Political Turnaround of Ramiro Marra in Buenos Aires

Legislator Ramiro Marra ended his solidarity account by calling for action to change the reality of homeless people. However, several users recalled a recent post where Marra had a less compassionate opinion about homeless individuals.

On January 20, Marra tweeted an image of people sleeping on the street with a comment suggesting they should be taken away from there to provide them with opportunities for progress. Among those who pointed out this shift in stance was leader Ofelia Fernández, who hinted at political opportunism behind Marra's apparent concern for the homeless.

In a more recent event, Marra helped a young homeless man with schizophrenia and epilepsy who had a seizure on the street. According to the legislator, the young man suffered multiple seizures while they waited for the ambulance, which took more than 30 minutes to arrive at the scene.

In response to Marra's publication, Juan Grabois, leader of the Frente Patria Grande, sarcastically welcomed the 'ground forces,' in contrast to the 'heavenly forces' from which Marra had been expelled the previous week. Despite the provocation, Grabois added that everyone has the capacity to change and improve.

Amid this controversy, Marra expressed the need to address the issue of homeless individuals, highlighting the urgency of providing assistance and opportunities to end this situation. In this regard, the discussion on genuine social concern and political opportunism continues to be at the center of the debate.
